My name is Tyler. I am a communications student, a writer, an artist, and above all, a music lover. I love writing about music specifically because it allows me to combine two of my favorite things in the world – and because it forces me to delve deeper into the music and analyze each piece of it. I find that this is the best way for me to fully appreciate the art that I am listening to and simultaneously communicate this appreciation to others.
I have freelanced for several independent publications in the past about various musical topics, and those projects were some of the coolest experiences of my life. It was so much fun to experience music from the other side, from inside the industry itself, and then to be able to relive it in writing. Now, having been transplanted to college where there are less venues for me to publish my work, I hope to continue my journey here.
My favorite genres include punk rock, rock n’ roll, ska, and other alternative styles – and this blog will encompass all of these and more. The mission of Soundwave Parade is to showcase the work of various artists, whether it be by album or concert review or by interview. Here, we parade the soundwaves of the world that deserve to be heard.
